BLACKWOOD PARENTS COMMITTEE
The Parent's Committee is a group of interested people (usually parents) whose main function is to support the Leaders to ensure an active and healthy Group. It's main functions are to:
· control Group finance
· maintain the hall and ground
· maintain rosters and events as necessary
· fundraise for special needs
· support the Leaders so they are free to concentrate their efforts on the training and welfare of youth members.
The Parents Committee is elected at an Annual General Meeting usually held in February of each year. Members are required to attend meetings held at the hall on the second Wednesday of each month to plan and develop activities in conjunction with the Group Leader, and also attend special activities as may be organised by the committee.
What is expected of Parents:
Parents are expected to support their child(ren) and the Group by attending working bees, bottle drives, fundraising events, serving on the Parents Committee and maintaining involvement in youth activities by providing transportation and other assistance as may be required.
